me, kate and taylor

Read this before NaNoCaiRo in Costa coffee

after becoming one of NaNoWriMo'ers I had e-mail from Kate asking me to join Egypt forum as she became the ML!!
she had set a meeting in Costa coffee in Zamalek and i went there

it was really good to spend time with these two friendly NaNoWriMo writers.
i arrived late - coz of bad traffic & some extra files to finish @ my work - and i found them with third girl - sorry that i can't remember her name - drinking big cups of coffee, so i ordered myself one and stated talking.
we talked about a lot of stuff. talking about their last NaNoWriMo trial and this year's, Kate turned out to be so friendly and Taylor was so enthusiastic.
Both of them couldn't wait till tomorrow, as soon as it got 12.00 am they started writing immediately. Kate got very promising opening and Taylor just gone Non-stop writing!!
i'm sure that they hate me for my English; my disastrous English, but I think that Kate noticed that and helped me a lot that night.
don't forget that this is my first to speak in English in public and my fifth time to make a conversation with someone face-to-face!!

Taylor liked to express all of her speech with nice acts, and we spent the night laughing. They talked about their old times. Taylor was chatting with her old friends on a program that I couldn't recognize.
We had funny times chatting about life, writing, Halloweens and everything we remembered.

على فكرة تايلور اللي كنت معاها أنا وكيت في كوستا في الزمالك رجعت أمريكا من زمان - يارب تكون بخير

once again, i go all the wrong way without even noticing that i repeat all my mistakes once more, getting to know people is not easy as it may seem. you just have to stop making new friends to stop messing in relationships. once again i get to know someone and once more i feel that i'm forcing people to know me. so should life be that hard with everyone or it's just me. the last trial in that field turned out to be a fatal mistake and i'm still seeking revenge - go back to http://www2.blogger.com/www.riddler.co.nr and search for how would you payback? title.
If it doesn't work that way, then why people can't just live alone? on their own?
well, frankly i know the answer and once i wrote long article about the necessity of friends in our life. it was one good article despite i had no friends at that time! i think i just wrote about the things that i miss in people around me
anyway , i failed gaining ready-existed friends and i failed making my own friends! so i have to set here till people come and try to know me as i am.

what i came here to say at first:
I've seen lot of visitors from Cairo to my website the last two days, i thought it was due to my brother's project and presentation, but taking one look at the links they've visited told me that they were interested in what i really put on the website. one good way to track visitors actions and places is GOOGLE analytics service, i saw some visitors that i could never except. well i can say nothing but welcome everybody wherever they come from.

اه أقول إن زوار الموقع من القاهرة زادو اليومين اللي فاتوا، وكنت فاكر في الاول إن الموضوع سببه مشروع أحمد أخويا اللي أنا رفعتهوله. لكني لما شفت مين هما الزوار دول وشفت اللينكات اللي دخلوا عليها عرفت انهم كانوا مهتمين فعلا باللي انا كتبته. كويس

++ all the titles in Kate's blog begins with the word (In Which) as she told me, she once read a book in her childhood with all stories beginning with the same words so i saw it was one hell of beginning for titles. i really miss Kate these days and i'll miss Taylor as she's gone back to USA

What killed dinosaurs?

For decades, scientists debated if it was an asteroid or volcanic activity that caused the mass extinction.

LONDON (Reuters) – A giant asteroid smashing into Earth is the only plausible explanation for the extinction of the dinosaurs, a global scientific team said on Thursday, hoping to settle a row that has divided experts for decades.

A panel of 41 scientists from across the world reviewed 20 years' worth of research to try to confirm the cause of the so-called Cretaceous-Tertiary (KT) extinction, which created a "hellish environment" around 65 million years ago and wiped out more than half of all species on the planet.

Scientific opinion was split over whether the extinction was caused by an asteroid or by volcanic activity in the Deccan Traps in what is now India, where there were a series of super volcanic eruptions that lasted around 1.5 million years.

The new study, conducted by scientists from Europe, the United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan and published in the journal Science, found that a 15-kilometre (9 miles) wide asteroid slamming into Earth at Chicxulub in what is now Mexico was the culprit.

"We now have great confidence that an asteroid was the cause of the KT extinction. This triggered large-scale fires, earthquakes measuring more than 10 on the Richter scale, and continental landslides, which created tsunamis," said Joanna Morgan of Imperial College London, a co-author of the review.

The asteroid is thought to have hit Earth with a force a billion times more powerful than the atomic bomb at Hiroshima.

Morgan said the "final nail in the coffin for the dinosaurs" came when blasted material flew into the atmosphere, shrouding the planet in darkness, causing a global winter and "killing off many species that couldn't adapt to this hellish environment."

Scientists working on the study analyzed the work of paleontologists, geochemists, climate modelers, geophysicists and sedimentologists who have been collecting evidence about the KT extinction over the last 20 years.

Geological records show the event that triggered the dinosaurs' demise rapidly destroyed marine and land ecosystems, they said, and the asteroid hit "is the only plausible explanation for this."

Peter Schulte of the University of Erlangen in Germany, a lead author on the study, said fossil records clearly show a mass extinction about 65.5 million years ago -- a time now known as the K-Pg boundary.

Despite evidence of active volcanism in India, marine and land ecosystems only showed minor changes in the 500,000 years before the K-Pg boundary, suggesting the extinction did not come earlier and was not prompted by eruptions.

The Deccan volcano theory is also thrown into doubt by models of atmospheric chemistry, the team said, which show the asteroid impact would have released much larger amounts of sulphur, dust and soot in a much shorter time than the volcanic eruptions could have, causing extreme darkening and cooling.

Gareth Collins, another co-author from Imperial College, said the asteroid impact created a "hellish day" that signaled the end of the 160-million-year reign of the dinosaurs, but also turned out to be a great day for mammals.

"The KT extinction was a pivotal moment in Earth's history, which ultimately paved the way for humans to become the dominant species on Earth," he wrote in a commentary on the study.
